Gojo signs agreement with US HealthTrust
Gojo Industries has announced a new contract with the US-based HealthTrust to provide its 1,400 member hospitals and 10,600 ambulatory surgery centres, physician practices and alternate care sites with access to purchase the full line of Purell Instant Hand Sanitizer and Provon hand hygiene and skincare products through the group purchasing organisation (GPO). Products include handwashing products and dispensers, compliance monitoring and measurement tools and Purell Advanced Hand Sanitizer brands, including green certified products.
Effective hand hygiene products are imperative for healthcare facilities, as well as products that protect and maintain skin condition. Gojo has been offering its Provon and Purell Advanced Instant Hand Sanitizer products to the acute care market since 2001.
"We are pleased to provide HealthTrust and its members with Gojo products, state-of-the-art delivery systems and product formulations, and award winning research and education," said Dave Mackay, vice president Sales & Marketing, Healthcare Markets.
"Gojo has provided hand hygiene and skin health solutions for nearly 25 years and we know the products and processes we've pioneered help increase hand hygiene compliance, reduce infection rates in hospital settings and improve patient outcomes."
According to HealthCare Supply Chains Association, a group purchasing organisation (GPO) is an entity that helps healthcare providers such as hospitals, nursing homes and home health agencies, realise savings and efficiencies by aggregating purchasing volume and using that leverage to negotiate discounts with manufacturers, distributors and other vendors. Overall, about 72% of purchases that hospitals make are through GPO contracts.
Gojo is a privately held corporation headquartered in Akron, Ohio, with offices in the UK, France, Australia, Japan and Brazil.
