Hygiene Group is the right ingredient for Cereform

* Cereform.jpgContract cleaning specialist Hygiene Group, is working with one of the UK's top bakery ingredient companies.

Cereform manufactures a wide range of ingredients used in the UK baking industry at its 420 sq m facility in Northampton. One of its key products is bread improver, which is used by many of the country's top bakeries each day to control the baking process and optimise the consistency and appearance of bread products. The company produces approximately 250 tonnes of bread improver each week at the site.

Hygiene Group's team was brought in to carry out overhead cleaning work at the factory, which involved working with scissor lifts and an extended boom to clean the cladded metal ceiling - which features an 18ft apex - as well as the girders, walls and pipework throughout the facility.

"We were very impressed with the team from Hygiene for several reasons," says Robin Bailey, factory manager at Cereform Northampton. "Firstly, they have all the right certification and are clearly very experienced in the cleaning of food manufacturing environments, which aren't always the easiest to operate in.

"Secondly, because we are such a busy factory, closing down production while the cleaning was carried out really wasn't an option for us. Working closely with the team, we were able to move process areas around to accommodate the cleaning and their flexible approach and professionalism meant they were able to work around us to complete the job, without any interruption.

"They were a great team who simply got on with the job and have since been back to carry out further cleaning for us and I hope we'll be working with them again in the future."

Steve Bailey, managing director of Hygiene Group, adds: "Our dedicated team of cleaners has undertaken specialist training in working at height, which was a key requirement for this job. This project demonstrated the strength and flexibility of our services to meet the needs of a wide variety of customers in the food manufacturing sector."

A market leader in the supply of ingredients to the baking industry, Cereform is part of AB Mauri, a division of Associated British Foods.
