Chequers' crowning moment at East Surrey College

* Queen-Opening.jpgFamily run contract cleaning business, Chequers Contract Services, had a brush with Royalty last week when Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, paid a visit to East Surrey College in Redhill.

Kate Ward, a director at Chequers, was delighted to be invited to the official opening and luncheon at the College - a valued client of seven years - and was even more delighted to be introduced to the Queen and her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke commented on the company's ethos and its commitment to the ethnic and cultural diversity in the workforce and its passion to provide a polished service to each of its clients without cutting back on quality; remaining competitive in the current economic climate.

"It was an honour to meet the Royals," says Kate. "I enjoyed the friendliness and relaxed manner in which the Queen and the Duke presented themselves during the luncheon.

"Chequers continues to go from strength to strength, winning several new contracts, providing cleaning and support services, bringing the workforce up to 450 (with more potential contracts on the horizon) certainly not a company to be swept under the carpet!
