EcoDepo

* Eco-Depo-MCS.jpgThomas Fairbairn EcoDepo's general manager Rory McAlinden had a lot to show off on the stand and we were really impressed with the clever thinking behind the many different waste and recycling bins on display.

We particularly liked the way the liquids waste part of the equipment enables waste operatives to monitor how full it is, to prevent the overflows experienced with some other equipment. This one tells you when it contains 15 litres - although there's still more room, just in case.

The easy-clean boards that can be attached to the equipment are custom made to cater for the fact that different areas have different recycling rules. Rory said that when these boards are in place, recycling rates skyrocket.

* Colour-bins-MCS.jpgBased just outside Belfast, the company has found a huge market in Iceland, which, according to Rory, "is really into recycling" and it has just set up a distributor in Spain which will service both Spain and Portugal. "Business is booming," he said.

EcoDepo's simple 'grab' system and clip mechanism allows colour-coded, fully-recycable sacks to be easily fitted onto the ecopods without the need for elastic bands, bungie cord or metal clips. It's versatile and adaptable and can be placed in station-like positions in any workplace. With the use of colour - coded lids and labels, various waste streams can be simply and easily managed and measured.
