Keep your floors looking brilliant
3M is well known for its innovation and has been manufacturing noteworthy products for the cleaning industry for more than 50 years. Here, Florent Gumery, 3M’s European Technical Specialist who’s based in France, is demonstrating the effectiveness of a range of floor restoration products that, he says, enable you to refurbish your own floors and which eliminate the need to invest in specialist training or equipment.
These include Trizact Diamond HX Discs, which can turn dull, scratched stone floors into beautiful shiny ones using standard floor cleaning equipment. Faster than traditional diamond grinding, the dust-free process can cut up to 85% off your costs.
Also of interest are the Scotch-Brite Surface Preparation Pads for deep cleaning; Scotch-Brite High Shine Floor Pads for cleaning and polishing in one process (the pads are abrasive all the way through rather than just on one side, for longer life and lower total costs– no chemicals are required - you just water or a neutral cleaner) which enable you to clean and create a high shine on marble, terrazzo, plastic and concrete floors. Tim explained that High Shine technology supercedes the 3M diamond floor pad range.
Scotchgard Resilient Floor Protector for protecting vinyl floors and reducing the need for future stripping; Scotchgard Stone Floor Protector for resilience against scuffs, scratches and stains, and the Easy Shine Applicator Kit, which offers an easy way to apply all the Scotchgard products.
Of course it’s better to try and prevent dirt from being walked into your facility in the first place, and Florent’s colleague Tim Copner, showed us 3M’s new building entrance matting, which is engineered to work harder and last longer than traditional offerings. Tim said that Nomad Optima+ entrance matting is an attractive, highly durable product that assists in slip reduction and plays a vital role in reducing cleaning costs, particularly in buildings where there is heavy footfall.
Additional cleaning products on the stand include the Scotch-Brite Quick Clean Griddle System and the Easy Trap Duster. The Griddle Cleaning System offers a fast and effective solution to griddle cleaning, comprising ready-to-use liquid, scouring pad and griddle handle, for removing burnt foods and residues from steel, stainless steel and aluminium flat griddles.
The Easy Trap Duster is a quick and effective dusting tool that uses specially designed disposable sheets to trap six times more dust, dirt, sand and hair than traditional mops.
