EMS raises the bar on ambulance cleanliness and infection control

* EMS-A+ECleaning.jpgSuffolk based private ambulance operator, EMS, is to work in partnership with medical deep clean and bio-hazard specialist, A+E Cleaning Solutions. All vehicles and equipment in service with EMS will be regularly and systematically deep cleaned to maintain best practice standards for clinical hygiene and infection control - with an emergency call-back procedure included to cover urgent post-incident special risks.

The move is the latest step in EMS's adopted PACE (Passionate About Care & Excellence) initiative. Operations Director, Kal Wells says: "EMS has always strived to ensure that infection control and management is at the forefront of patient care. However, operational demands can mean that ambulance deep cleans have to be undertaken at random times of the day or out of hours, incurring additional time and costs

"A+E Cleaning Solutions is a leading and highly experienced specialist in this area and is able to provide us with a cost effective solution - with services available 24-hours a day, working around our ever changing rosters and shifts."

Leigh Hounsome, Managing Director of A+E Cleaning Solutions says: "Our team is very much looking forward to working with EMS Ambulance Service. Our reputation is based not least on how seriously we take infection control and we understand just how important it is for patients that they are treated and transported in clean and sanitised ambulances.

"We have many years of experience in the bio-hazard and ambulatory environments and we are totally committed to reducing the risks with which already unwell or injured persons may be presented. EMS Ambulance Service had a very rigorous and effective infection control policy in place already - and we have been able to compliment and build further on their current procedures.
