Ryans ploughs through a clean 10 years

* Ploughing-Championship-site.jpgRyans Cleaning, of Tipperary, Ireland, is celebrating its 10th anniversary of servicing the National Ploughing Championships, one of the largest outdoor events in Europe.

The event, which saw more than 200,000 people visit over a three day period, took place in September at Heathpark, New Ross, County Wexford.

A team of 45 specialist event cleaning staff from Ryans Cleaning descended on the site to manage all public areas throughout the event which included; catering outlets, toilet blocks, car parks and public walkways.

When the event came to a close, cleaning teams completed a two day site clean on the 700 acre area which included over 20 car parks and a 200 acre ploughing competition area.

Sinead Cleary, Operations Manager for Ryans Cleaning, says: "This is a huge event and attendance has doubled over the last 10 years. In addition to the crowds, we are often met with poor weather conditions. However, despite the muddy environment, our team was quick to manage all the areas which received upwards of 60,000 visitors per day.

"Our experience of working at large outdoor events means we are well equipped to deal with extreme weather conditions and return the site to its pre-event condition."

Ryans Cleaning is also retained by eight of the large exhibitor marquees present at the event and maintains high footfall areas for the likes of Waterford Stanley and EBS. Visitors to the exhibition area, which housed 1,250 businesses, were able to purchase everything from tractors to wellies and explore all sectors of agriculture, including the latest developments in food, farming, machinery, livestock, motors, forestry and innovation.

Speaking of the event, Anna May McHugh, Managing Director for the National Ploughing Association says: "It is important that we work with cleaning specialists who pay as much attention to planning prior to the event as they do to the post-clean. Ryans Cleaning does not only ensure that we are happy but also the site owners, exhibitors, local county councils and surrounding neighbourhoods.

"This year the site was in a new location in the south east and we are satisfied that we managed to keep the site and farmers fields in excellent condition. It's clear to see why Ryans Cleaning has been retained for the last 10 years."

With a turnover of more than £5million, Ryans Cleaning employs more than 70 people full-time and 1,000+ part-time and seasonal staff serving the requirements of fixed venues, international events, tradeshows and exhibitions as well as commercial, office and industrial cleaning premises in the UK and Ireland.
