energy-efficient laundry a hit with staff and residents at Walsh Manor

Residents at Walsh Manor in East Sussex have found the recently installed HS 6008 LOGI PRO washers and Econ-O-Dry dryers from Girbau UK easy to use, never out of action and cleaning clothes brilliantly, while the busy estates management team is no longer tied up repairing machines.

Walsh Manor provides living accommodation and facilities for 350 residents who work at the Church of Scientology Religious Education College at Saint Hill in East Grinstead, together with their families. Residents are responsible for their own laundry, including their staff uniforms and bedding, and require access to the laundry room 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

The eagerly awaited laundry expansion and refurbishment saw the installation of 17 Girbau HS?6008 LOGI PRO washers and 17 Econ-O-Dry gas dryers in a stackable space-saving combination. All HS?6008 LOGI PRO washers come with Girbau's Just in Load feature, which allows the user to quickly and easily adjust the consumption of water and detergent according to the weight of the load and wash program, by simply selecting one of four buttons on the control panel for a full, 3/4, half or 1/4 load. US body Energy Star has named the Girbau HS-6008 washer as the most energy-efficient in its class.

"The machines are easy to use and the symbols are straight-forward. I also like the no heat option on the tumble drier which I need for a lot of my clothes," comments Walsh Manor resident, Jo Wilkins. "It is also really noticeable that clothes are coming out so much cleaner. Lots of people have commented on this. The oven gloves and aprons from the kitchens now looked properly clean for the first time."

The affordable rental package offered by Girbau UK was key to making the new laundry a reality, and enabled Walsh Manor to benefit from the latest energy-efficient machines without a large capital outlay. Girbau UK also gives the estates management team access to a service helpline which guarantees a same-day/next-day response, freeing up more of their time for other jobs.

"People no longer have to queue for a machine because some are out of order. Having access to nice facilities makes a difference to people's everyday lives, particularly when you work hard all day," says Nick Toms, estates manager for Walsh Manor.

Staff and residents were so excited with their new laundry that they marked its opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebratory cake!
