LPM Cleaning goes 'quackers' in support of Brainwave children's charity

LPM-DuckRaceSponsorship.jpgLPM Cleaning & Support Services has joined with numerous companies in and around the North West to support Brainwave, a charity which aims to realise the potential of children with developmental delay, brain injuries and genetic conditions.

The UK contract cleaning specialist is one of a number of organisations sponsoring a giant duck-shaped advertising board in Spinningfields, where, on Friday 6th April, the Manchester Duck Race will take place in aid of Brainwave, LPM's chosen charity for 2012.

Brainwave sees children with a whole range of issues including brain injuries such as Cerebral Palsy, and genetic conditions including Down's Syndrome, Developmental Delay and Autism.

Families are invited to one of Brainwave's centres or clinics where each child is assessed and a Programme of exercises is designed by the therapy team according to the child's individual needs.

Parents and carers are shown how to carry out the programme so that they can undertake the exercises and activities at home and work towards achieving the child's goals. This could be anything from feeding themselves or walking to recognising numbers or forming sentences.

"Brainwave is a remarkable children's charity, which offers practical help and advice that really changes the lives of families up and down the country," enthuses Alistair Clayton, LPM's Business Development Manager. "We are delighted to be offering our support to this crazy fund-raising event and hope that it will help to raise the profile of the work carried out by Brainwave and to generate some much needed funding."

On 6th April (Good Friday), activities will start at Spinningfields from 11.00 with Punch & Judy shows, a bouncy castle and hook-a-duck amongst the entertainment. The Duck Race along the River Irwell will begin at around 14.00.

LPM is a large and rapidly expanding organisation with more than 2500 staff across the UK and an established client portfolio of more than 1200 customer locations, which are serviced every day. It has a Head Office in Kent and a further 11 offices in locations as far and wide as Livingston in Scotland, Newtownabbey in Northern Ireland and Chipping Sodbury, Bristol.

The company provides contract cleaning services to a wide range of markets including commercial, education, facilities management, food hygiene, property management, pharmaceutical, professional, public sector, retail & shopping centre and transport & logistics. It also offers environmental waste management, grounds maintenance and pest control services.

The company has been conducting business in Manchester for more than 20 years, in Leeds for more than 50 years and the original London Property Maintenance business (LPM) celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2010.

Its ambitious expansion programme sees organic growth being supplemented by strategic acquisition in specific target markets.
LPM is a member of BICSc, The Society of Food Hygiene & Technology, Contractor Plus, CSSA, CHAS and The Green Organisation. It is Safe Contractor Approved.
