A high performance service for a high performance business - GKN Aerospace

* GKN-Aerospace.jpgGKN Aerospace, a first tier supplier of highly complex composite and metallic aerostructures and engine products to the global aviation industry, recently awarded a five-year facilities services contract valued at over £5 million to OCS.

At the company's Filton and Western Approach sites, OCS will provide cleaning services for office and industrial areas, reception and vending services, along with logistics, loading and waste operations. Security services will also be provided at Western Approach.

GKN Aerospace acquired the former Airbus UK Filton wing component and assemblies manufacturing facility in January 2009 and began production at the Western Approach Distribution Park in Severn Beach in 2010. OCS operatives will provide services for around 1,000 staff across the two sites over the next five years.

John Pritchard, Vice President and Managing Director Metallic Aerostructures for GKN Aerospace, explains: "In a highly competitive environment, OCS demonstrated a clear understanding of our requirement and offered the strongest and most cost effective solution."

Andrew Mortimer, Client Services Director for OCS, says: "Over the last 12 months, we have established strong relationships with the client and listened carefully to their requirements. We are delighted to be working with GKN and this prestigious account is a key addition to our business portfolio in the manufacturing sector."
