Hovima Aparthotels wins Check Safety First award for exceptional standards
Hovima Aparthotels has been awarded Check Safety First's '2010 Group Award' for achieving exemplary health & safety levels across all its establishments last year. Using Check Safety First's E-Cristal auditing system, the Tenerife based group has been commended for its excellent standard shown in the management of hygienic sanitary risks.
The Hovima group has worked tirelessly with Check Safety First to ensure the safest environment for guests. E-Cristal has been used by each establishment to gather and record the latest hygiene data relating to legionella, food safety and fire safety. Collecting this information has helped Hovima's management maintain consistently high standards across the chain, which is upheld by independent audits undertaken on a monthly basis.
"Since working with Check Safety First in 2007, we have raised standards in each Hovima establishment," explains Candelaria Perdig-n, quality manager at Hovima Aparthotels. "This award is an indication of all the hard work the team has put in over the past year to ensure that guest safety is our highest priority. We are extremely proud to be given such an accolade."

As part of Hovima's consistent commitment to health and safety standards, all of its aparthotels have been listed on www.checksafetyfirst.com, the website that provides the travelling public with access to a database of hotels that have obtained consistently high standards of hygiene & safety.
Check Safety First supplies health and safety risk management audit systems to hotels, holiday properties and restaurants around the world.
The company enables these organisations to meet and exceed local and international legislative and best practice requirements for health & safety, through the implementation of HACCP and compliance management systems. Check Safety First also offers training, ongoing assessment and appraisals in accordance with the Cristal Mark, a standard developed in line with World Health Organisation's guidelines and the benchmark for food safety since its launch in 1997.
In November 2007 the company launched Via Cristal, a health & safety system developed specifically for overseas holiday properties. Based on the best practice principles of the Cristal Mark, Via Cristal enables property owners to mitigate the risk of guests becoming unwell or injured during their time in the accommodation by providing comprehensive health & safety guidelines backed by annual audits.
