Industry raises £1,800 for Breast Cancer Campaign

* Cleaning-Industry-supports-breast-cancer-research.jpgGuests at the recent British Institute of Cleaning Science annual awards dinner, helped to raise £1,800 for the Breast Cancer Campaign. Money was raised from a charity raffle held during the awards evening, alongside a generous gift donation from the ISSA Foundation Fund.

Companies that kindly donated prizes for the raffle included headline sponsor of the evening, LCC Support Services. Additional raffle prizes were donated by Miele GB; Unger UK; Cleanwise Training & Management; Interserve; ERB Training; UK Special Risks; KUSCO; Zenith Hygiene Group; Metro Clean of Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council; Premiere Products; Bees Knees florists; awards organiser Ceris Burns International and awards venue, the Marriott Forest of Arden.

Breast Cancer Campaign's mission is to beat breast cancer by funding innovative world-class research to understand how breast cancer develops, leading to improved diagnosis, treatment, prevention and cure. This was the charity of choice of outgoing BICSc Chair, Lynn Webster.

In addition to the donation of raffle prizes the awards evening was made possible through the sponsorship of a number of companies. Firstly, LCC Support Services as headline sponsor with support from Pearroc, Progress Cleaning Services and Complete Services Washroom Solutions. Additional sponsors included Asset Skills, which sponsored the BICSc Award for Training and Assessment within an Accredited Training Provider; TimeAttend which sponsored the Outstanding Student of the Year award and In Depth Managed Services, which sponsored the Eric Hill Medal for past service to the Institute.

Additional sponsors were Darwin Clayton for the drinks reception; Bunzl Cleaning and Hygiene Supplies for the table decorations; Turner FM for the awards photography and Barclays Print for the awards dinner programme.
