Spanish exports from sector grow by 15.91% in first half of 2023
ASFEL, the National Association of Spanish Cleaning & Hygiene Products Manufacturers, has released the sectorial barometer of exports for the first half of 2023. This report outlines the overall landscape of the sector's exports.
The cleaning & hygiene sector in Spain has shown robust growth in the value of its exports during the first half of 2023. The figures point to an increase of 15.91%, translating to a total of 607.7 million euros when compared to the same period in 2022.
Despite the positive outlook in terms of value, it's crucial to note that when measuring exports by volume, a decline of 3.08% was recorded in the first half of 2023.
Key figures:
* 607.7 million euros exported in the first half of 2023.
* An increase of 15.91% compared to the first half of 2022.
* Growth of 5.11% in the 2nd quarter of 2023 compared to the 1st quarter of 2023.
* Main export destinations: France, Portugal, UK, Italy and the Netherlands.
The report delves into the main export destinations. The analysis reveals that the countries importing the most products from the Spanish cleaning and hygiene sector this semester are:
* France: Valued at 121.3 M€, it has witnessed a growth of +29.12% compared to the same period last year.
* Portugal: With a value of 101.7 M€, it has seen a growth of +27.47%.
* UK: Valued at 74.1 M€, it posted an impressive growth of +3.54%.
It's worth mentioning that, within the top 10 destination countries, only Italy and Belgium have shown a decline in sales, with -2.14% and -17.16% respectively.
