Hygie Canada named ‘Company of the Year’ and brings home prize for innovation & technology
Hygie Canada, which manufactures products that limit the spread of bacteria - thereby reducing the risk of infections in hospital settings - won two prizes: Entreprise de l'année (Company of the Year) and Innovation et technologies (innovation & technologies) in the 31st edition of Prix Excellence, a recognition programme created by the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de la Rive-Sud.
The Dominique-Rollin Gala celebrates businesses that have distinguished themselves over the past year. A total of 12 prizes were awarded.
"We are honoured by these prizes," said Éric Tanguay, Hygie Canada president. "They recognise our team's commitment to developing specialised products that efficiently limit de spread of bacteria in hospital settings, while delivering eco-friendly hygienic solutions that are useful at home, outdoors and while travelling."
Founded in 2006, Hygie Canada has a strong presence in over 700 health establishments as well as the homecare sector in Canada, and now offers a full line of hygienic products for outdoor or travel hygiene. The company has set itself apart through its patented Hy21 technology, which consists of supports and covers to help manage biological fluids – a known contributor to infections in hospitals. The Quebec company holds patents in 38 countries and is currently expanding into the US, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.
