BSCAI announces enhancements to CBSE and RBSM designation programmes

* bscai-team.jpgThe Building Service Contractors Association International recently completed significant enhancements to its certification programmes, which set the standard in the building services industry.

BSCAI's Certified Building Service Executive (CBSE) and Registered Building Service Manager (RBSM) are recognised as symbols of individual excellence in the industry, with less than 1% of professionals having achieved the designations.

"The updated RBSM and CBSE programs are a reflection of our strong dedication to developing the personal and professional knowledge of building service contractors," says Christopher Mundschenk, BSCAI executive vice president and CEO.

"The designations provide recognition to BSC professionals who have proven their expertise and commitment to the industry, and serves to differentiate them from their peers."

The seven volumes used in both the RBSM and CBSE study kits have been updated and enhanced to improve the training resources used in the programmes. Exams and materials are reviewed annually by the BSCAI Certification Committee to ensure the candidates are being tested on relevant and timely information.

New materials are available in the BSCAI marketplace and can be purchased individually or as a combined kit.

The RBSM and CBSE exams have upgraded to a new online platform. The new platform allows candidates to take a non-proctored exam at their convenience. The exam is timed and results are available much more rapidly. Re-examinations are also available online (www.learninglibrary.com)
In addition to applying for the online examination, those studying for their designation will also have access to the seven updated volumes electronically via computers and tablets.

"We recognise that in our complex and evolving industry it is important to have a competitive edge to succeed," says Certification Committee chair and BSCAI Board Director, Parker Moore, CBSE, IH Services. "We are thrilled that our enhanced materials will continue to serve as a resource to building service professionals who are working toward their designation, and the online platform will provide more convenience and accessibility to achieve a BSCAI certification.

"Contact BSCAI if you tested in the original format but wish to re-exam on-line.

Formed 50 years ago, the BSCAI now represents a worldwide network of more than 1,000 member companies throughout the world that provide cleaning, facilities maintenance, security, landscaping and other related services to building owners and managers. The association provides contractor-specific education programmes, individual certifications, healthcare reform tools, publications, a members-only purchasing programme, seminars, industry data and research and networking opportunities, all developed specifically for leaders in the building service industry.
