David v. Goliath! Small owner run cleaning company scoops national awards

National Support Services, a Swords, Dublin-based cleaning & hygiene services provider, has scooped two national awards at the Irish Contract Cleaning bi-annual industry awards.

The company won the 'Best Overall Cleaner in Ireland' award and the 'Best Cleaner in a Small Cleaning Company' at the awards ceremony, held at Dublin's Ballsbridge Hotel last Friday week.

Speaking about the two awards, Shane Curran, Managing Director at National Support Services said "Winning these two awards, in particular the Best Overall Cleaner in Ireland, is a great achievement for our company and it reaffirms our philosophy of recruiting strong cleaning professionals and supporting them with good management, training, systems and supervision to ensure we deliver excellence to our clients.

"We were competing against most of the big companies in our industry, so to win these awards confirms what we see in the contract cleaning marketplace - that SME's can compete with their larger competitors when it comes to winning business and delivering excellence."

Erika Druskeviciene, who won the Best Overall Cleaner award said: "I was so happy to win the award. We work in a very demanding environment to a very high standard, so it is nice to receive such recognition out of 35,000 cleaning professionals in the country!"

National Support Services adds these two awards to the two awards they won at the 2012 ICCA bi-annual awards, and two awards won in 2010. The awards come at a time when the contractor is experiencing a high demand for customer-focused delivery of real quality cleaning services, where the management of the company is involved in the delivery of services on the ground. Shane Curran comments: "We have won a number of cleaning contracts this year as a result of our hands-on management style and a genuine care for our clients, and since winning those contracts our clients have commented on the high levels of quality they receive as a result."

Established in 2004 by Shane Curran and employing just 100 cleaning & hygiene professionals, the contractor services the Leinster region offering contract cleaning, industrial cleaning, specialist cleaning, provision of janitorial supplies and pest control.
