Regent Samsic parent gets a gold for CSR

* RegentSeismic.jpgPan-European service provider Samsic has been certified 'Gold' by Ecovadis, the collaborative platform enabling companies to monitor the corporate social responsibility (CSR) performance of their suppliers across 150 sectors and 99 countries.

A 2005 signatory to the UN Global Compact Agreement, Rennes-based Samsic - which trades in the UK under the Regent Samsic brand - is one of Europe's largest business service providers and France's second largest cleaning company.

EcoVadis assessed official documents and 21 CSR indicators covering 150 categories of purchases, before placing Samsic in the top 25,000 companies examined by the platform. The assessment is compatible with new international standards such as GRI G3, Global Compact and the ISO 26000 standard.

The outcome rewards the long term progress achieved by Samsic in respect of its CSR remit with key focus on its sustainable development, the provision of reliable and objective customer information and continuous improvement across all processes.

Says Regent Samsic joint managing director, John Critchell: "Attaining so high a level of assessment gives a real boost to the Samsic group's ongoing work in CSR and to related aspects of our business, as well as giving stakeholders an objective summary of our approach and its effectiveness."
Coventry-based Regent Samsic provides support services to 1700 sites owned by 750 clients across the UK.

Established in 1986, the Samsic Group has acquired over 80 established businesses and launched over 320 new companies to service 20,000 clients in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal and the UK.

Organic growth will lead to the opening of subsidiaries in Germany and Holland in addition to other European countries for Samsic, which employs 70,000 people on a turnover (2012/13) of €1.5 billion.
