Cleaning Expo Scotland 2014 gets the 'Yes' vote!

* Truvox-Hydromist-Clean-Expo-Scotland.jpgScotland is featuring regularly on news bulletins and in the Press, thanks to the historic referendum taking place on 18th September 2014, on whether or not to become an independent country. How will the people vote: 'Yes', or 'No'? One thing we know people are saying 'Yes' to is Cleaning Expo Scotland, which is taking place just a couple of weeks before the referendum, on 3th and 4th September, at Glasgow's SECC.

With stand space almost sold out and the numbers of visitors who have pre-registered to attend, growing daily, the enthusiasm surrounding this new event is becoming infectious!

Says Exhibition Director Martin Scott: "Scotland has had many firsts... for example, Alexander Graham Bell with the telephone, John Logie Baird with the television, Alexander Fleming with penicillin, and now - with what promises to be another huge success - Cleaning Expo Scotland!"

It is not just Martin who is excited though...

"We are ecstatic that the Cleaning Expo is coming to Scotland; it's about time a cleaning industry event of this calibre took place here and it couldn't be happening at a better time with Glasgow hosting the Commonwealth Games shortly beforehand," enthuses Gary Hosie of PTS Clean. "This really is a unique opportunity for all Scottish & Northern English based businesses to see what's out there for them in the way of cleaning solutions in a convenient and easy to get to location like the SECC. So much is done over the Internet these days but we still believe nothing beats meeting people face to face.

"Our machines (Eureka floor scrubber dryers and vacuum sweepers) are rugged and robust to suit even the most industrial of applications; we can tell people that until we're blue in the face, but the best way is to let customers see it for themselves at the show. As the show is free to attend, we're sure this will add to the show's success and be the first of many. You know what they say about us Scots... we appreciate value for money!"

Emma Wood of Disposables UK is equally enthusiastic, saying:

"At last, a cleaning industry trade event in Scotland and Disposables UK is delighted to be a part of it! Cleaning Expo Scotland is the ideal platform to meet with Scottish and Northern based companies in the industry and as the event is free entry, we are certain the visitors will flock to the SECC to see the wealth of great products and services on offer in our industry.

"We will be showcasing our Bay West brand of washroom dispensing systems (which are installed within the SECC washrooms!) that are designed to offer an end to wastage, over-use, abuse, pilferage and run-out. The hand towel, toilet tissue and foam soap dispensers offer cost savings in use and the tissue, towels and soaps are manufactured at our base in West Yorkshire.

"We are certain Cleaning Expo Scotland will be a resounding success and we look forward to meeting with existing and new customers in September."

The exhibitors are not just from Scotland and the North of England, however. Southampton-based Truvox was one of the first to book space. "Our machines are widely used throughout Scottish schools, Scottish hospitals and Scottish government buildings, and our new innovations will succeed in complementing the range in areas currently difficult to access and clean during peak public periods, e.g., pool sides, changing rooms, busy hospital A & E departments and lifts, to mention but a few," says Lesley Davis, Truvox Regional Manager Scotland, Ireland & North East England. "Make Truvox your partner in endeavouring to keep Scotland safe and healthy!"

Another company from Southern England, Buckinghamshire-based SEBO (UK), is also looking forward to showing its German-built wares to a new audience. Derek Smith, Commercial Accounts Manager, says: "SEBO is delighted to have the opportunity to exhibit at Cleaning Expo Scotland. With Martin Scott at the helm we are confident of a brilliant show.

"Made in Germany, SEBO are the world's biggest selling professional upright vacuum cleaners, utilising the latest innovations and technology, making the machines easier to use and further improving on our legendary reliability... All the equipment is built for heavy duty and high productivity use, and our well-established machines will be on display alongside our latest developments, at this prestigious event."

Andrew Lee, Chairman of the Federation of Window Cleaners, is another one who is pleased that Martin Scott is staging a show for those 'north of the border'...

"We do feel that we have left Scotland out for a while and would be delighted to welcome all Scottish window cleaners to this event," he says. "We are looking forward to demonstrating how the FWC can help non-members and members alike... especially with the two IOSH accredited training courses produced specifically for the window cleaning industry - and more recently developed, the only window cleaning specific procurement scheme - 'Safety Accredited Member' (SAM), which is designed to help small and large businesses alike enhance their health & safety status when applying to facilities managers for window cleaning contracts. SAM is a similar scheme to the CHAS and Safe Contractor schemes, although SAM is training-based as opposed to paper trail based."

Another organisation dealing with high level cleaning is Northampton-based Spinaclean. Three years after a hugely successful launch to the global market, the company will be showcasing its new range of SkyVacs to Cleaning Expo Scotland visitors. "We are thrilled to be launching our new SkyVacs at the Expo - a perfect platform to show our Scottish customers the advantages that have made SkyVac a world-renowned, high reach cleaning system," says Mark Nice of Spinaclean. "It does not require the use of expensive scaffolding, ladders or high access equipment. Instead, the system sucks gutters clean using a powerful vacuum cleaner while the on-board camera (which also has a recording facility) helps provide precision cleaning. There is no mess. Carbonfibre suction poles make SkyVac light and easy to use.

"We also have a high reach internal vacuuming system for use in areas such as restaurants and retail shopping areas. Our equipment provides a safe solution for cleaning high buildings such as hospitals, offices and domestic properties while enabling users to comply with the latest regulations and health & safety requirements."

The final comment from the first group of exhibitors interviewed about their expectations regarding Clean Expo Scotland comes from Cindy Horwood, Marketing Manager of OGL:

"We work closely with a large number of businesses in the cleaning and janitorial sector and Cleaning Expo Scotland presents exciting new opportunities for our award winning business management software, prof.ITplus," she explains. "We are committed to the Scottish market with new offices opening this year, so the organisers have our full support in making this launch event a huge success."
