Seal Shield's new hygienic computer keyboard combats spread of germs

Seal Shield has this week announced the launch of a backlit, waterproof, natural style keyboard constructed with antimicrobial product protection. Developed for the healthcare market, the Silver Seal Glow uses proprietary, waterproof LED lighting, making the product ideal for typing in low light environments.

Additionally, the Silver Seal Glow contains Silver Seal, an antimicrobial, fungistatic additive that reduces the growth of mould-, mildew- and odour-causing bacteria on the product's surfaces.

The keyboard is 100% waterproof, fully submersible and washable and is easy to clean with sprays, wipes or even in an automatic dishwasher. Regular cleaning with healthcare grade disinfectants can help prevent the spread of germs, viruses and bacteria, which are known to live on frequently touched surfaces.

According to a University of North Carolina Research Study, up to 25% of hospital keyboards are contaminated with MRSA, but daily disinfecting of the keyboards can reduce the risk of cross contamination to patients and practitioners.
