Cleaning supplies director scoops Surrey award

A director of a commercial cleaning and janitorial supplies business has been chosen as Director of the Year in the Toast of Surrey Business Awards. Ollie Rastall, who co-owns Source Supplies with his business partner Dave Piper (left of photo), was selected as a worthy winner by a panel of judges from the Surrey branch of the Institute of Directors who sponsored the category.

Sam Farrow of the IoD had this to say: 

"Ollie's win proves that business and leadership skills transcend market sectors, and the size and type of enterprise you're running. It's also really encouraging to see a young company with such burning ambition and setting such high standards for itself. Ollie's sheer passion for what he's doing shines out in everything he says and does - that's the kind of inspirational leadership-by-example we need in British business today. Let's hope that as Ollie and Source Supplies go on to bigger and greater things - as they surely will - he can maintain that excitement and sense of possibility."

This is the second Toast of Surrey award in as many years for the company that proclaims to be aiming to 'raise the bar' in the cleaning supplies trade after it scooped the award for Businesses Under £1m Turnover Category in 2012 - a financial milestone that the company has since significantly exceeded.

Ollie is overwhelmed by the award but is keeping his feet firmly on the ground. "It was a huge shock to win!" he says. "I was up against two highly successful and inspirational directors so to be chosen by such an esteemed panel of judges as a worthy winner was very exciting. The team are chuffed to bits with the win as it's another chance for all their hard work to be recognised. Dave and I are now even more determined to deliver top notch customer service and ensure that our customers experience the best of us."
