A new standard in skincare science

* LTX-PURELL-Gojo.jpgHealth and hygiene go hand in hand - and we're reminded of this fact almost constantly. Seemingly not a day goes by without a story about these inextricably linked subjects hitting the headlines from virus outbreaks in hospital wards to the continued fight against healthcare associated infections.

These are potent reminders that developing good personal hygiene habits, alongside effective cleaning regimes, bring many benefits, especially in a healthcare setting. The right products and systems can play an invaluable role in the promotion of healthy hand care behaviour, but to be truly successful, they need to combine good aesthetics, accessibility and ease of use, whilst being equipped with pleasant and effective hygienically advanced formulations. To put it simply, products and systems that people actually want to use.

This ethos is central to everything Gojo does, and is embodied by its most recent addition to the renowned Purell range - Purell Advanced Hygienic Hand Rub.

Representing a breakthrough in skincare science, the new 'entire hospital' formulation combines exceptional antimicrobial efficacy with clinically proven skin condition. This scientifically-advanced hygienic hand rub spearheads a total hand hygiene system that promotes infection control by maximising compliance. But just as importantly, the new hand rub formulation feels great to use, as well as being clinically proven to maintain skin health(1).

Purell Advanced is the result of a comprehensive rethink about how a hygienic hand rub can best promote infection control and help reduce healthcare associated infections whilst being gentle on the skin. It has been designed as an 'entire hospital' formulation to optimise the effectiveness of ethanol and demonstrate that formulation matters. It incorporates patent-pending technology that sensitises microbial cells to alcohol. In this way it achieves a level of efficacy far greater than some products with higher levels of alcohol.

Purell Advanced efficacy has been demonstrated to improve with repeated use when tested on the hands(2). This, coupled with key hospital norms according to EN 1500, EN 14476 and EN 12791, support the entire hospital claim.

The fact that it is fragrance-free and gentle on the skin, containing a special combination of moisturisers to keep the hands in good condition, means that hand hygiene compliance becomes a pleasure and not a chore. By giving healthcare workers access to products and systems that they actually enjoy using, this can only help towards achieving a greater success rate of reducing infections through compliance.
