Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest winner crowned
After weeks of hard work and anticipation, Lake Orchard, Michigan native - Susan Brennan - was named the winner of the Eighth Annual Cheap Chic Weddings Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest, brought to you by Cheap-Chic-Weddings.com and sponsored in part by Charmin.
Final judging took place yesterday at Ripley's Believe It or Not! Times Square Odditorium, where Susan received a cheque for $2,012. The 700 participants were required to construct their wedding dresses out of nothing more than Charmin toilet paper, tape, glue and/or needle and thread.
"The quality of talent that presents itself each year always amazes us," says Susan Bain, one of the founders of Cheap Chic Weddings. "This year's entries included several dresses that had intricate details like faux embroidery, ruffles, pleats and even lace effects."
Charmin is a sponsor of the contest for the second time and provided coupons for contest entrants to help cover the cost of purchasing the rolls of Charmin used in creating each dress, which ranged in amount from 10 rolls to nearly 50 rolls in some cases.
"Charmin is thrilled to once again be a sponsor of the Cheap Chic Weddings Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Contest," says Laura Dressman, P&G External Relations Manager. "We're inspired by these dresses and couldn't imagine a better way to showcase the Charmin brand in a fun and unique way. Congratulations to Susan Brennan and all the finalists on their fantastic designs."
Charmin's manufacturer, Procter & Gamble, serves approximately 4.4 billion people around the world with its brands.
