Vermopping the UK
German mopping systems and cleaning equipment manufacturer Vermop has opened a subsidiary in the UK to serve customers throughout the British Isles and Ireland.
Operating from modern commercial premises in Guildford, Surrey, just minutes from the M25 London orbital and the rest of the UK motorway network, the establishment of Vermop UK Ltd has been made "in order to move the business to the next level."
Involved in the UK since 2005, the innovative range of quality made products from Germany soon gained a substantial slice of the UK healthcare market through leading cleaning contractors at NHS Trust hospitals, including at such world famous names as Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
Headed up by UK Sales Manager Gareth Jenkins (pictured), who leads a dedicated team, the smart, newly refurbished premises, in addition to a modern general office, also boasts a meeting room that comfortably seats 10 persons.
According to Gareth Jenkins the 'door opener' for successfully establishing the company in the UK was initially the Twixter Wet and Dry mopping system, and more recently the modular trolley systems, which are now mostly assembled for bespoke orders in Guildford.
Holding a large stock and served by regular deliveries from the factory in Germany, the capacious warehouse is nevertheless stacked fairly tight, but this means that the company is able to respond without delay to even large customer orders.
Of the trolley systems, the Shopster, that provides a solution to the problems of storage, yet remains compact in size and also conveniently lockable, is one of the best known and most in demand, and may be inspected along with many other products in the Vermop range in the spacious showroom and demonstration area. These products include a full range of Vermop window cleaning equipment and janitorial supplies - even its own vacuum cleaners!
Because Vermop manufactures the majority in-house, including its textile products, plastic mouldings, and has its own metal production facility, the company is able to provide a high level of flexibility in the range available - it even makes its own product display stands by adapting standard product components to new applications!
With a growing reputation for providing a high level of support and training in addition to the world-class quality of the products, rather than being perceived as merely a 'box-shifting' operation in Guildford, described by Gareth as a "Good strategic move", for the company, what does the future hold for Vermop UK Ltd?
Well, they are currently undertaking a pilot scheme in the NHS Supply Chain, as well as branching out into other sectors of interest, including Retail. And with delivery and distribution costs now lower as a result of fulfilling orders from Guildford instead of Germany, the potential to indeed "move the business to the next level" is surely within its reach.
