Laundry specialist boosts Irish sales team as business booms

* Laundry-specialist.jpgCommercial laundry specialist Christeyns, has appointed Victor Kiely, from Cork, as a technical account manager to strengthen its Irish team, which is headed up by Jerry O'Brien, operations manager, Ireland.

Victor (pictured) will be field based and will provide support across all of Ireland. He is currently undertaking a six-week induction course at Christeyns' head office in Bradford, UK.

Christeyns has seen significant growth both in its UK and Irish businesses over the past three years, with turnover in Ireland up by 50%. The firm is also developing partnerships with a number of specialist distributors that serve the small laundry and dry cleaning market.

Dave Aveyard, operations director at Christeyns, says: "We want to build on our success in the commercial laundry business to date and leverage the significant number of opportunities we have in the pipeline arising from both technical advancements in equipment systems and innovative chemical developments."

The Irish sales team will support Christeyns growth strategy as the firm looks to increase turnover and sales across all its business sectors in both the UK and Ireland.

With a continued focus on the environment and the challenges of producing innovative solutions, Christeyns is at the forefront of its field, constantly seeking to provide laundry chemicals and systems that offer the best cleaning results whilst also reducing operational costs and protecting the life span and quality of the linen.

Founded 70 years ago in 1946, Christeyns has developed into an international detergents and chemicals group in various B2B markets. Still a 100% privately owned family business, with headquarters in Ghent, Belgium, it now runs 13 factories worldwide and produces specialist chemicals for several industry sectors. Over the past decade, turnover has increased by an average of 17% annually, reaching a consolidated total turnover of more than 300 million euros in 2016. The Christeyns group now employs around 850 people in sales offices across 30 countries.

Christeyns' UK operation dates from 1998 when it bought the Oils & Soaps company, which was founded in Bradford in 1848. With its headquarters still at Rutland Street in Bradford, Christeyns UK now includes cleaning chemicals specialists Cole & Wilson, Oscrete construction products and Warrington-based Christeyns Food Hygiene.
