New company headquarters in Neumünster optimises supply possibilities

* Kruse-HQ.jpgHenry Kruse, which provides large-scale commercial and institutional customers with cleaning and hygiene products and services, care and medical aids, hotel cosmetics, occupational safety equipment, disposable packaging and catering equipment, relocated its head office from Kiel to Neumünster in early October after about an 18 month construction project.

The third-generation owner and managing director, Kai Kruse, says that the company's success meant that the old premises were simply too cramped. "Our company group, with customers in the sectors of building cleaning, healthcare, hotel industry, catering and catering as well as crafts and industry, has steadily grown in recent years. To ensure that we continue to meet our customers' expectations, we have invested around 20 million euros in the new company location.

"For the first time, for example, the company has been able to earmark a dedicated area for the dust-free and temperature-monitored storage of the articles for hospitals.

"The move is an investment in the future. In the next few years, we want to enable our employees to achieve an optimal working environment."

Kai explains that important in the decision to move to Neumünster were the excellent location in the immediate vicinity of the geographic centre of Schleswig-Holstein, as well as the optimal connection to the A7 - because the new premises are only 500 metres from the junction.

During the planning of the new building, the family business was particularly keen on integrating state-of-the-art technology and sustainable technologies, which are less damaging to the environment, into the facility. A geothermal heating system, a power station for electric cars for employees and customers and a solar-power system for the company's own electricity consumption were installed. In addition, a sports hall will be erected at the site by the end of the year.

The total area of ??the property, which is designated as a commercial area, covers 65,000sq.m, of which almost 20,000sq.m are built. In addition to 19,000sq.m of storage space, training and seminar rooms for about 90 people as well as offices for sales and administration are available. Approximately 170 employees work at the new location.

In order to be able to carry on the operational business smoothly to the satisfaction of the customers, the relocation has been meticulously prepared over several months. From mid-July, the first employees tested new storage techniques, including optimised processes and in particular, new warehouse management software. After the last working day in September, the Kiel premises was cleared and was transferred to the new location within three days. At the end of the move, more than 10,000 pallets had been transported from Kiel to Neumünster.
