Communities encouraged to bag quicker flood protection

* Sandbaggers.jpgA British company has come up with an innovative device which enables communities at risk of flooding this winter to fill 480 sandbags per hour.

As large parts of the UK continue to suffer flood damage caused by the recent heavy downpours, BCB International, the award-winning Cardiff-based survival equipment company is encouraging UK residents and businesses to consider using its 'Sandbagger' to help protect their properties.

"Our winters are notorious for heavy rainfalls which can result in devastating floods," admits John Rix, BCB International's UK Sandbagger manager.

"We want communities which are at risk of flooding to know that our Sandbagger can help reduce the damage that a flood can do to their homes and businesses. Its wide mouth hopper combined with the twin bag slide system allows one person to fill two bags at once."

The BCB Sandbagger costs less than £200 and can be erected in seconds and collapsed to facilitate transportation and storage. It can be used with synthetic or hessian types of sandbag.

"Our Sandbagger has been successfully exported to countries like Poland, where flash floods are a growing problem," adds John. "It will help speed up flood protection by enabling users to fill sandbags quickly, right where they need them the most."

For over 50 years, BCB has designed and manufactured a wide range of quality military equipment. The company's excellence has been recognised through two Queen's Awards for Export Achievement as well as the acclaimed Wales Innovation Award 2010. BCB is approved to ISO 9001:2008 International Quality Standard.
