CHSA's sell out Golf Day raises £5,500 for charity

* CHSA-golf-day.jpgOne of the highlights of the calendar, the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers' Association's annual Golf Day - held at Rudding Park in North Yorkshire - was a 'sell out', raising over £5,500 for the Chairman's charity, The Helping Treat Cancer Together Committee.

21 teams took to the course, each supported with a professional from the Yorkshire PGA.

"With an 18-hole Stableford Pro-Am Tournament at its heart, the Golf Day is a great opportunity for members to network and do business at the same time as having a great day out of the office and raising funds for charity," explains the CHSA's Chairman, Stephen Harrison. "Raising over £5,500 was a brilliant achievement; thank you to everyone who took part and those who gave so generously."

The Helping Treat Cancer Together Committee helps cancer patients with treatment costs the NHS will not fund, where the patient's doctors believes there is a reasonable chance the treatment will provide a cure, prolong life expectancy or improve quality of life.

The Greyland A team - Jack Barber, Ben Crosby, Phil Wilkinson and James Drinkall - emerged as the winner, and Duncan Bullough, a player on the Scott Janitorial / Jangro team, won the individual amateur competition. Douglas Scott of RGD Supplies (Team Polaris Plastics) ended the day celebrating, winning a golf bag for his victory in the Par 3 event and a bottle of champagne for getting nearest the pin, just 14 inches away on the 5th hole!

"Congratulations to the winners," continues Stephen. "I look forward to seeing them defend their titles next year!"

- The Competition Hole Sponsors were: Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Services, Deb Disposables, Kimberly-Clark and Metsa Tissue.
- The Hole Sponsors were: Arco, Chicopee Avintiv, Greyland, Harrison Wipes, Polaris Plastics, P&G Professional and Selden Research.
- The Juice Buggy Sponsor was Diversey Sealed Air. The Golf Ball & Tee Sponsor was Polaris Plastics.
- The Dinner Wine Sponsor was BPI Recycled Products and Shetland Janitorial Supplies sponsored the Mulligan Balloons.

The sponsorship opportunities and player places were snapped up very early this year. Those interested in sponsoring a hole or another element of the day or in securing a player's space should email the CHSA.
