CMS Purus Awards winners 2015

* Purus-awards-winners.jpgOne of the highlights of the first day of CMS Berlin was the presentation of the CMS Purus Awards 2015 for outstanding design. This year the competition attracted 62 entries from over 40 exhibitors, of which 15 entries made it through to the final round of the two-stage selection process. Nilfisk, Vileda, SCA and Karcher were the winners.

In the 'Machinery' category the award went to the 'VP600' industrial vacuum cleaner from Nilfisk. Among the features that led to this decision are its light weight, automatic cable winder and the ease with which the various elements can be replaced with the aid of bayonet connectors.

The 'UltraSpeed Pro' wet flat mopping system from Vileda Professional won the 'Equipment' category because, for example, the coloured design of the active elements supports intuitive, user-friendly operation.

In the 'Washroon Hygiene' category the judges decided in favour of the 'Tork Image Design' range of dispensers from SCA Hygiene Products AfH Sales, citing the restrained and functional styling that has been consistently implemented throughout the entire product range.

Finally, in the 'Brand Communication' category, Alfred Karcher received the award for its 'restorative cleaning of Aachen cathedral'. The panel of judges drew attention to a unique characteristic, the use of the company's core competency - the product itself - in its marketing.

All 15 of the entries that made it through to the final round can be seen in a special show in Hall 1.2 during the exhibition, which finishes on Friday afternoon.
