Supply chain reaction: global certification expert states big data key to improving safety standards

As increasingly complex supply chains make it difficult for large manufacturers and retailers to monitor quality and safety across global suppliers, certification provider Bureau Veritas has revealed that adopting a data-based approach to supplier monitoring could be key to driving standards forward.

It comes as latest figures show that the number of UK product recalls hit a new high of 575 in 2017, up almost 50% on the previous year, covering a range of sectors. Moreover, when it comes to trust, research by Bureau Veritas found that just half of people worldwide trust businesses to do the right thing - and that figure is fast declining.

Why 9,854,955 B2 has a certain ring to it for Kaivac

On 2nd January, 2018, Kaivac welcomed the new year with a notice from the US Patent Office. Kaivac's OmniFlex Crossover Cleaning System has been awarded a new patent - number 9,854,955 B2 to be precise. The patent applies to almost all OmniFlex systems including the Dispense-and-Vac, AutoVac, SUV, or hybrid combination of these systems.

The AutoVac and SUV systems have become very popular in the professional cleaning industry because they eliminate the need for mopping while also offering a cost-effective floor cleaning alternative to traditional automatic scrubbers.

Millennials drive the rise of the domestic cleaner in London

Recent research has revealed that demand for professional cleaning services has gone up by a staggering 25% in the past five years in London. A whopping 50% of this increase has been driven by millennials with boroughs that have high populations of 18-35 year olds seeing some of the biggest jumps in demand.

Second acquisition by Nationwide

Electromec is a national provider of cradle and access testing services and employs 30 people. Its customers include Manchester Airport, Liverpool Airport, Knight Frank and the NHS.
