The 15th September 2016 marks the date of the BICSc Annual Awards, celebrating excellence in training and assessment within the cleaning industry. As a special addition to this year's annual awards, The British Institute of Cleaning Science will be hosting an exclusive cleaning industry educational programme and exhibition.

"The event will be a place for professionals from all levels of the industry to learn, feel inspired and network with some of the leading suppliers in the industry," notes Tracy Rinaldi, commercial director, BICSc.

New UK head office for Kärcher

* Karcher_House.jpgThis Autumn the global cleaning giant will have a new home in the UK - and it's streets ahead of the old facility, if not streets apart. Kärcher UK's brand new, purpose-built UK headquarters opened for business at Banbury's Brookhill Way on Tuesday.

The move has been a long time in the planning and, as the new site includes a Kärcher Centre shop, a large Academy for customer and employee training, and in phase two a Wash Centre for the public, the move is expected to make a difference to staff, customers and the local community alike.

Arrow's Chinese investment pays off with new contract wins

Arrow Solutions, which is based at a factory in Moira, has marked the first three months of trading in Shanghai with news that it has secured a string of new contracts to supply Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) and Beijing Metro.

Mitie partners with eight clients for Recycle Week

* Mitie-recycling-week.jpgIn partnership with eight key clients, Mitie is taking part in WRAP's (Waste & Resources Action Programme) Recycle Week. The week is designed to improve general awareness of recycling and this year's theme - 'The Unusual Suspects' - encourages people to be more diligent when it comes to the disposal of everything from drink cartons, coffee cups and lids to plastic drink bottles and food containers.

These are items used every day, but they often don't get recycled properly, instead ending up in general waste or the wrong recycling bin.

Floor pad that's 'a gift to the environment'

"This is the way nature would make floor pads: from primary feedstock or sugar, using no oil, and no genetically modified materials," says the manufacturer. "The manufacturing process releases 60% less greenhouse gases than comparable 'green' pads.

NIC awarded circa £50m contract with Morrisons

NIC is one of the pioneering contractors that has worked closely with Morrisons to see the retailer outsourcing its services for the first time in over 100 years of trading. Morrisons is a Yorkshire-based food retailer serving customers across the UK at more than 500 stores with 117,000 colleagues working in the business every day.

TCFM now part of the Colonel's secret recipe at KFC

The contract being delivered by a team from TC Specialist Services, part of TC Facilities Management, started on 8th August. Working at height specialism lands CAM an Olympic-sized challenge

Dan will be hosting the Awards Dinner that takes place after the competition and will, no doubt, be featuring in many of the pictures taken of the Awards ceremony, alongside the happy winners.

As a provider of antimicrobial sanitary waste liners we agree that it is important to provide scientifically verified data, and to follow the principles of the relevant testing standards.

According to reports by the NHS Hospital Trust and the Primary Care Organisation, 1,222 MRSA bloodstream infections were reported between July 2014 and July 2015, with 72% of those attributed as being contracted outside of the hospital setting.
